ChudGPT Discord Bot Privacy Policy

Effective September 26, 2026

This policy explains how the independently hosted ChudGPT Discord bot and ChudGPT-Public handle information. It is based on the current public bot implementation and does not promise a fixed retention period or a deletion process that has not been implemented.

ChudGPT's Discord application is part of the independent ChudGPT project developed and maintained by Astra / ASTRA228b.

Website accounts and simulator support

The website uses Google sign-in through Supabase. Its account records, simulator entry-request list, daily usage counts, payments, and browser language settings are covered by the Site Privacy Policy. Discord membership does not automatically link your Discord identity to a Google account. If you contact the owner about a donation or access, information you voluntarily provide may be used to locate your account and verify the request. Send account details and payment proof privately, not to public server channels or issues.

The website language selector uses pre-generated static translations and does not translate visitors' conversations through Google. The bot's optional translation feature is separate and may send text to Google translation endpoints as described below.

Model and language settings

Use !chud model or !chud models to see your selection and available IDs. Use !chud model plus, replacing plus with public, music, buggy, 700, 1300, 1500, 1600, ultimate, pro, code, or mega, to change it. Choices apply to your Discord user in the current channel, not everyone in the server.

Use !chud language to check translation mode, !chud language es to select a language, !chud language auto for detection, or !chud language off to disable it. !chud translate es your text requests a one-off translation. When enabled, translation can send your prompt and the generated reply to Google; code blocks and mentions can prevent reply translation.

Model and language preferences are held in the bot process and reset on restart. The default model is Public and the default language mode is auto. A successful !chud clear clears the selected model session and recent bot context and resets the language preference, but keeps the selected model. It does not erase private logs or Discord messages. Website language settings are separate.

Music V1 prompts

Prompts sent with !chud music <prompt> use the same owner-hosted ChudGPT-Public API path and the same Discord logging, conversation-state, and retention practices described in this policy for normal bot conversations. Music and normal Public conversations use separate sessions, but Music prompts and generated lyrics may still appear in the project's private Discord quality logs. Supplied-lyric analysis uses an adviser disclosed as music-genre-adviser in generation logs; it does not write lyrics. The October 13 curriculum additions used no private user chats or existing song lyrics. Logging and retention practices remain unchanged.

Information the bot receives

Discord supplies information needed to respond to messages and commands. Depending on the interaction, this can include Discord user IDs, usernames and display names, guild IDs and names, channel IDs and names, member role names, mentions and mentioned-user IDs, message text, command arguments, attachments, and recent conversation context. Direct messages are identified as direct-message conversations rather than guild channels.

Private conversation logs

Messages sent to ChudGPT and the bot's responses may be logged privately for debugging, reliability review, and model-quality improvement. Each current JSONL record can contain a UTC timestamp, guild ID and name (or Direct Messages), channel ID and name, user ID, username, display name, prompt, and reply. The bot's default current-host location is D:\ChudGPT-Discord-Logs, with monthly files. The project does not currently publish a fixed retention period or guarantee automatic deletion of these logs.

Conversation memory and clearing

Conversation state and model choice are separated by guild or direct message, channel, and user. The bot also keeps limited recent same-user messages, bot replies, reactions, and language preferences in process to support follow-ups. The !chud clear command asks the selected owner-hosted API to clear that session and removes the bot's in-process context for that user in that channel. It does not represent a promise to erase Discord's own message history, private quality logs, backups, or sound files.

Model selection and desktop storage

The bot can route a prompt to a user-and-channel model choice through !chud model <id>. Prompts are processed by the selected owner-hosted ChudGPT API family. Separately, ChudGPT Desktop stores chats and preferences on the user's device, but sends prompts to the selected owner-hosted API; selecting a model does not run its weights locally on the desktop device.

Grounded Public responses

For Public V20, conservative exact-math requests and stable ChudGPT or AI identity questions may be answered by narrow local assistance systems identified as exact_math or project_identity. This routing does not add another third-party data recipient or provide general browsing. Other questions continue through neural generation. Music V1 songwriting remains neural-only and does not use these two response systems.

Blacklist

A hot-reloaded blacklist.json file can store Discord user IDs and a response message. The bot checks the requesting user's ID against this file to suspend access to chat, commands, soundboard controls, and server-administration tools.

Soundboard uploads

Configured soundboard administrators may upload supported audio attachments of up to 50 MB. Files are stored on the bot host under the configured soundboard directory, which defaults to D:\ChudGPT-Bot-Sounds, until an administrator deletes or replaces them. Filenames are sanitized. The local control panel is restricted to the host computer and uses a session token, but independently hosted software still has security limitations.

Server channel and role backups

Authorized server commands can create temporary channel/category snapshots and role-configuration backups. The configured host directory defaults to D:\ChudGPT-Discord-Server-Files. Backups can contain guild identifiers and names plus channel, category, role, permission, and layout information. The bot sends these files through Discord direct messages to the appropriate server owner and invoking administrator. The implementation attempts to delete the temporary host copy after DM delivery attempts, including when delivery fails; Discord may retain the sent attachment under its own systems and policies.

Third-party services and public links

The bot and Public service use Discord for bot events, messages, mentions, attachments, DMs, and voice features; Google translation endpoints for optional translation; DuckDuckGo Instant Answers, English Wikipedia, and Stack Overflow for explicit web lookups; Vercel for the public website and API proxy; Cloudflare Tunnel to connect that proxy to the owner-hosted CUDA service; and the operator of any public page a user asks the bot to read. These providers receive information required to fulfill the request under their own policies.

When a user pastes a public HTTP or HTTPS URL, the bot may fetch up to a limited amount of text and return an extractive summary with the source link. It validates every redirect and blocks credentials in URLs, unusual ports, localhost, local domains, and private, reserved, or non-public network addresses. It also rejects oversized or unsupported binary pages. Users should not paste private, access-controlled, or sensitive links.

Secrets and sensitive information

The bot does not intentionally request passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card data, private keys, or other secrets. Never submit them in messages, commands, files, URLs, issue reports, or soundboard uploads. If sensitive information is posted in Discord, Discord's copies and permissions are separate from this project.

Discord's processing

Discord independently processes account, server, message, attachment, interaction, and voice information under Discord's Privacy Policy. Removing ChudGPT or clearing its session does not delete information held by Discord.

Security and user choices

ChudGPT is a small independently hosted experimental project. Reasonable technical controls are present, but uninterrupted operation, absolute security, and protection against every failure or compromise cannot be guaranteed. Users can stop messaging the bot, use !chud clear to clear current conversational state, leave a server, ask a server administrator to remove the bot, or request assistance through the project issue tracker. A request can be reviewed, but no automatic data-access or deletion workflow is promised.

Future changes

This policy may change when the bot, hosting, storage, commands, or third-party services change. The effective date identifies this version. Materially different behavior should be reflected in a future revision.

Contact

General project questions can be submitted through the public ChudGPT-Public issue tracker. For account, donation, or data requests, contact astra0181123 privately on Discord. Do not post account emails or payment proof publicly. Never send passwords, authentication tokens, or payment-card data.
